It’s Saturday night, and I’ve just rolled a fattie; the first thing that comes to mind is “what are the best movies to watch high”.
Of course, there are always classic comedy options like Superbad or school of rock, but there are so many other picks that will have you either roaring with laughter or leave you in awe. So many flicks out there are excellent but so much better to watch when you’re high.
So in case, you’re stoned out of your mind and you can’t find a film to watch, here’s a list of stoner movies to watch while high.

Everything’s funnier when you’re high; there’s no doubt about that. These stoner comedies will have you laughing out loud.
Pineapple Express
There’s no doubt that Seth Rogen and James Franco are hilarious as hell. This flick is even funnier because Seth Rogen, a well-known stoner, wrote it.
This film is iconic and has to be one of the best weed comedies of all time, in my opinion. The film starts with Dale, played by Rogen, smoking some pineapple Express with his dealer Saul. Then, on his way back home, dale witnesses a murder and freaks out, throwing his roachie out of the car before driving off.
Ted Jones, a powerful drug lord, finds the roach and immediately knows that whoever witnessed the murder buys his stuff from Saul. Dale then finds out from Saul that the roach can be traced back to him since he’s one of two people that deal with the strain. From then on, it’s a wild goose chase.
The duo finds themselves getting into awkward situations throughout the movie. You’ll want to roll another while watching this flick, especially during all the kickass action scenes.
This is the perfect flick to watch with your buddies, even more fun if you smoke some Pineapple Express while you watch it.
White Chicks
The Wayan brothers have been making hilarious films for as long as I can remember, and white chicks have to be one of my favorite movies. Two FBI agents who are about to get fired are sent on a mission to protect a pair of snobby wealthy sisters while they go to a high-profile event. Hilarity ensues when the sisters refuse to go, leaving the agents no choice but to disguise themselves as the girls.
I was roaring with laughter the first time I saw this movie, and even now, it’s a delight to watch and even funnier when you’ve smoked up. Terry Crews is so hilarious in this movie, Playing a perverted pro basketball player who’s obsessed with one of the sisters, referring to her as “white chocolate.”
This flick is pure comedy gold, and it’s no surprise that it’s a cult classic. Add it to the list of movies to watch when you’re high.
Sausage Party
Another great Seth Rogen flicks; this film is so ridiculous that I’ve watched it about a hundred times. Each time I watch it, I end up laughing my head off. This is more than just an animated comedy full of innuendos and the dirtiest humor you can imagine.
The movie starts in a supermarket, where every food’s goal is to leave the supermarket. But upon leaving, the foods find out that getting bought means getting eaten. The absolute horror on the faces of these foods is so messed up that it’ll make you laugh.
A massive food orgy scene completes this movie which will have you laughing out loud because it has to be the most ridiculous yet amusing thing you’ll ever watch. If you need good movies to watch high, then this is a great pick.
Dude, Where’s My Car?
One of the best comedies to watch when high, the film starts with two friends who wake up hungover and find out that they’ve lost their car, which had presents for their twin girlfriends.
This begins a long search for their car, and along the way, they find themselves getting into hilarious situations. There are literally two alien races, one which wants to destroy the world and one which is protector.
My favorite scene is when the friends go to get some Chinese food, and while they’re ordering, the person taking their order keeps repeating, “and then?”
The Big Lebowski
The Big Lebowski stars Jeff Bridges dressed like a guy who looks like a major stoner (and Jesus?) who loves to go bowling. What’s not to love?
This flick is hilarious, and it’s even more fun to watch when you’re high. Watch Jeff Bridges try and get a new rug; it really tied the room together.
Shaolin Soccer
This film has it all, kung-fu and ridiculous soccer! This one hits with the sports fans, and it’s filled with nonstop laughs. Plus, being high? I can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon. This one is one of my personal favorites!
Kung Fu Hustle
Continuing with another great pick, this cinematic masterpiece doesn’t have any soccer. Still, it has a great scene where a bunch of guys get their asses kicked by a lady in her pajamas while smoking a cigarette. You’ll be sorry you missed this one!
Grandma’s Boy
Grandma’s Boy is one of the ultimate partygoer movies. The movie stars a hilarious cast with many stoners who sit around a guy’s grandma’s house.
It’s filled with hijinks, and even grandma gets in on the fun! So smoke along and have fun with this one.
Soul Plane
This comedy does not have an excellent reputation… so you might want to smoke a lot before you watch it. However, this movie is great to poke fun at while you’re smoking it up with your friends.
Half Baked
A classic stoner comedy. One of the best stoner movies around, ever. Whether you’re stone-cold sober or higher than a kite, Half Baked offers a hilarious time.
It stars Dave Chappelle, so you know it’s a great one. It’s even taught me many life lessons, including “don’t feed diabetic horses any donuts.”
Super Troopers
This is another great movie to watch, high or not. Filled with nonstop laughs, pranks, and some colorful characters, this one will keep you giggling the whole time. Just try not to say the word Shenanigans too many times…
Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny
This cult hit stars Jack Black and Kyle Gass as they make their debut on the big screen. We see Jack Black take on the challenge of starting the greatest band in the world. Will they be tenacious enough, or will they miss their shot?
Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle
This has to be at the top whenever anyone asks you what’s one of the best high movies. This movie stars a couple of pals who get super high and want to eat some burgers.
Of course, with these two, it takes them forever as they go through one obstacle after the other. This one is for sure one of the best movies to watch while high.
Friday
Friday stars Ice Cube (who also wrote the movie), and Chris Tucker get into a lot of trouble in just one day.
The two have to raise money after smoking some weed that was meant to be sold. But, of course, you’ll laugh and laugh with this one, and who wouldn’t wanna smoke along with Ice Cube?

Slasher Films to Watch While High
Some people want to be relaxed when they watch a scary movie. But, of course, you can cut down some of that tension while smoking weed. But what are the best high movies?
Apocalypse
Cabin in the Woods is a pretty tongue-in-cheek movie that makes fun of most horror movies. The characters even get nicknames like “The Virgin” or “The Athlete” and even “The Whore”.
Characters are pinned up against a secret laboratory that remotely gives them drugs that mess with their heads, all while trying to start a ritual.
I always told my friend this movie felt like a super dark version of a Scooby-Doo episode. Definitely, something to watch when you’re stoned.
Zombie Apocalypse
This is another excellent choice to watch high. While this one takes itself a little more seriously, this is a great slasher to sit back, relax, and watch as zombies’ heads explode.
While the movie sounds fantastic, it doesn’t have the best acting. Part of the fun can be you and your buddies sitting around and making fun of it, which is some of the best movies to watch high.
Friday the 13th
Jason Voorhees always scared the shit out of me as a child, but as an adult stoner, this film is so fun to watch. A classic slasher with lots of blood and cheap horror tells the story of teens at camp crystal lake being stalked by Jason.
Watching this as an adult is much more amusing, especially when you’re high.
Psycho
The infamous shower scene in Psycho is one that we all know. Throw some weed into the mix, and bam, you have one of the best movies to watch while high. The thrilling 60s horror is always great to watch.
Scream
“Do you like scary movies” is a quote you probably know from the 90s? This cheesy slasher is so much fun to watch. It tells the story of a group of friends who a masked killer stalks.
I love doing scream marathons now and then because this movie is simply timeless.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Another slasher that scared me shitless as a kid but is now so fun to watch. There’s something oddly satisfying about watching Leatherface chasing people with a chainsaw. One of the greatest and creepiest movies to watch when you’re high.
Child’s Play
Creepy killer doll on a rampage? It May sound spooky, but this is on my list of good movies to watch high since watching Chucky going berserk makes me giggle. Lots of blood and cheesy 90s horror
The Purge: Anarchy
Another flick that’s on my list of movies to watch when high is purge. A film about the crime is legal for 24 hours. But let’s be honest, if the crime were legal, I’d still just stay inside and smoke up.

NASA not only finds a wormhole near Saturn but the wormhole is used to travel to a distant galaxy with several options for humanity to thrive.
You’ll want to make sure you’ve got a fresh bowl packed before watching this one. 80 years will not pass by before you finish it, fortunately!
Donnie Darko
This movie gets weird. Like, really weird. Some say you might have to watch this movie high even to understand it.
The movie follows Donnie’s titular character as he struggles with hallucinations and mental illness, all while being followed by a guy in a rabbit costume. This one would take a while to explain, so it’s best to sit down, smoke some weed, and join Donnie for the ride.
Inception

If you want movies to watch high on Netflix, Ma is a great pick. Octavia Spencer delivers a spine-chilling performance as Ma, a lady who lets a bunch of teens party at her house. This movie is full of extraordinary twists that will leave you feeling shocked.
Fractured
One of the best trippy movies to watch high. The movie starts off with Sam taking his daughter to the hospital after she had a huge fall. But when he can’t find his daughter and wife, he starts suspecting the hospital. Full of jaw-clenching twists, and watching it high is a delight.
I Care a Lot
I care a lot is on my list of good movies to watch high. It tells the story of a scammer legal guardian who aims to land wealthy elders into a care home and take over their assets. She meets her match when her newest target is the mother of a gangster. A great pick that I love to watch when I’m smoking bud.

Another great Ashton Kutcher film tells the story of Evan, a man who can alter his past while he is in an unconscious state. Unfortunately, this turns out to affect his present life in not-so-nice ways. Nevertheless, this flick always gets me going, and I highly recommend watching it.

This film is a cult classic telling the story of a ballerina who slowly turns crazy when her role as a black swan is offered to another dancer. Natalie Portman delivers a haunting performance. This film is a delight to watch, especially when you’re baked.
